What's wrong?
On default, even with correct resolution, Spotify does not scale right.

To solve this, spotify-flags.conf needs to be placed in .config/
cat ~/.config/spotify-flags.conf
--enable-features=UseOzonePlatform
--ozone-platform=wayland
--enable-wayland-ime
