ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System details
Basically freshly booted image from the official link (Omarchy 3.1.7, Hyprland 0.52.1 (Wayland))
What's wrong?
Environment:
- OS: Arch Linux (Omarchy distro)
- Audio Server: PipeWire
- Device: Shure MV7 USB microphone
Note: I'm not expecting anyone to fix this since it's open source and everyone's volunteering their time. Just documenting this issue in case others run into the same problem and need a workaround, or if someone happens to know a proper fix!
Problem:
The Shure MV7 USB microphone is detected by the system but remains in SUSPENDED state and doesn't work for either input (microphone) or output (headphone jack).
Symptoms:
- Device appears in pactl list short sources as SUSPENDED
- No audio input from microphone
- No audio output through headphone jack
Expected Behavior:
The microphone should automatically activate and be usable for both input and output when connected.
Actual Behavior:
Device remains suspended and requires manual intervention to activate.
Workaround:
Opening pavucontrol immediately activates the device and makes it fully functional (In some cases it just does not, but poking it with a stick helps). Perhaps, the GUI appears to trigger PipeWire to properly initialize the device.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect Shure MV7 USB microphone
2. Check device status: pactl list short sources
3. Observe both sources show SUSPENDED state
4. Attempt to use microphone - fails
5. Open pavucontrol
6. Device immediately becomes active and functional
Observation:
The audio device appears in the settings (GUI, when you open it by clicking audio interface in the waybar), it even shows the audio signal, it just doesn't forward it to the output, apparently). For microphone itself, it appears in the settings too, but nothing else.
