Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Macbook Air 7,2 2015/2017 Webcam driver doesn't load on installrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

System details

Macbook Air 7.2

What's wrong?

The webcam kernel module doesn't load on the 2015 macbook air. The agent loaded it just fine but it probably should load during the initial omarchy install. I tried to get the agent to create a PR but did have any luck. Here the gist of what the big pickle had to say.

Final Plan
Phase 1 — Load kernel driver on this machine
Install facetimehd-dkms + facetimehd-firmware via yay -S
DKMS builds the module against the current kernel (7.2.5-3-omarchy)
Requires sudo (will prompt for password)
Load with sudo modprobe facetimehd
Verify — v4l2-ctl --list-devices lists the FaceTime camera, /dev/video0 appears
