Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

What's wrong?

Steps to reproduce

Replace you ~/.config/hypr/hypridle.confconfig with this one:

general {
    lock_cmd = omarchy-lock-screen                # lock screen and 1password
    before_sleep_cmd = loginctl lock-session      # lock before suspend.
    after_sleep_cmd = hyprctl dispatch dpms on # to avoid having to press a key twice to turn on the display.
    inhibit_sleep = 3                             # wait until screen is locked
}

listener {
    timeout = 10
    on-timeout = pidof hyprlock || omarchy-launch-screensaver
 }

listener {
    timeout = 15
    on-timeout = hyprctl dispatch dpms off # screen off when timeout has passed
    on-resume = hyprctl dispatch dpms on && brightnessctl -r # screen on when activity is detected
}

Restart hypridle :

omarchy-restart-hypridle

Expected behaviour

The screensaver should kick in after 10 seconds. The screen should turn off 5 seconds later.

Actual behaviour

The screensaver kicks in after 10 seconds but it takes another 15 seconds for the screen to turn off. It appears the screensaver resets the idle timer.
