Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Screen sharing fails in v3.2.3: The new share picker (hyprland-preview-share-picker) returns selection -1revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, Omarchy 3.2.3

What's wrong?

After updating to Omarchy 3.2.3, screen sharing functionality (Google Meet via Firefox, Discord, etc.) stopped working completely. When initiating a screen share, the window/screen selection dialog never appears, and the request fails immediately.

Investigating the xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland logs reveals that the session is destroyed instantly with SHAREDATA returned selection -1, indicating the picker binary is failing to launch or crashing immediately.

I identified that the issue is caused by the switch to the new hyprland-preview-share-picker in the default configuration. Reverting to the legacy picker resolves the issue.

Logs

Output from xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland during the failed attempt of sharing my screen in a google meet using firefox:

[LOG] [toplevel] (activate) locks: 2
[LOG] [screencopy] New session:

[LOG] [screencopy]   | /org/freedesktop/portal/desktop/session/1_56/webrtc_session517802545

[LOG] [screencopy]   | /org/freedesktop/portal/desktop/session/1_56/webrtc_session517802545
[LOG] [screencopy] restore data invalid / missing, prompting
[LOG] [screencopy] SHAREDATA returned selection -1
[LOG] [screencopy] Session destroyed

The Fix / Workaround

The issue was resolved by editing xdph.conf (located in ~/.config/hypr/) to revert the picker binary to the original hyprland share picker.

Faulty Configuration (Default in 3.2.3):

screencopy {
    custom_picker_binary = hyprland-preview-share-picker
    allow_token_by_default = true
}

Working Configuration:

screencopy {
    custom_picker_binary = hyprland-share-picker
    allow_token_by_default = true
}
