ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Title:
[Bug]: Early-boot freeze on Intel + Nvidia hybrid laptops due to hardcoded early Nvidia
modules in initramfs
### Description:
On laptops with Intel + Nvidia hybrid graphics (Optimus / MSHybrid), the internal display
panel (eDP) is wired to the Intel iGPU, while the discrete Nvidia GPU is a secondary render
node that may be powered down (D3cold) or managed via ACPI.
The installer script (install/hardware/nvidia.sh) detects the presence of an Nvidia PCI
vendor ID (10de) and unconditionally forces:
MODULES+=(nvidia nvidia_modeset nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm thunderbolt)
into the initramfs MODULES array.
During early boot, right after systemd-udevd initializes in the udev early hook, the init
script executes:
modprobe -qab $MODULES
Because the discrete GPU is in an uninitialized ACPI state and the internal screen is driven
by Intel, this early modprobe triggers a PCIe bus deadlock at ~1.07s into boot:
:: running early hook [udev]
Starting systemd-udevd version 261.2-1-arch
[ 1.075551]
_
The boot freezes permanently before reaching run_hook [udev] or the disk unlock prompt. View raw text
