ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Voxtype: Transcription triggers system shortcuts if Super key is heldrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy 3.3.3

What's wrong?

Description

Currently, when the voxtype dictation finishes, it outputs the transcribed text by simulating individual keystrokes into the active input field.

The issue arises if the user is still holding down the Super key, the system interprets the simulated keystrokes as shortcuts rather than text input.

Example: If the transcribed word is "what is ....." and the user is holding Super:

  • System receives Super + w.
  • System receives Super + space, etc.

This causes random system behavior instead of typing the text.

Proposed Solution

Instead of simulating keystrokes for every character, the transcribed data should be copied to the system clipboard.

This avoids modifier key conflicts entirely. The user can then manually paste the text.

### What's wrong?

### Description

Currently, when the `voxtype` dictation finishes, it outputs the transcribed text by simulating individual keystrokes into the active input field.

The issue arises if the user is still holding down the **Super** key, the system interprets the simulated keystrokes as shortcuts rather than text input.

**Example:** If the transcribed word is "what is ....." and the user is holding `Super`:

*   System receives `Super` + `w`.

*   System receives `Super` + `space`, etc.

This causes random system behavior instead of typing the text.

### Proposed Solution

Instead of simulating keystrokes for every character, the transcribed data should be **copied to the system clipboard**.

This avoids modifier key conflicts entirely. The user can then manually paste the text.

Validation

Not checked yet. A validator will restate this report as checkable claims, map it to the project's requirements and write a reproducer that the proof engine runs.
