Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Mute button doesn't work after updaterevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, Omarchy 3.3.3 (Linux 6.18.7-arch1-1)

What's wrong?

Hey,
Since an update to aforementioned version it seems the "hardware buttton"(F8) for microphone Mute/Unmute doesn't seem to work (no reaction). I tried combinations with various control keys (ctrl, alt, shift, super, fn) just in case but no luck. Not sure what logs I could look into to see what might be going on (didn't notice anything in journalctl -xe). Also other similar functionalities like volume, brightness or keyboard backlight toggle keys work just fine.

Surprisingly with the audio frontend Omarchy uses the internal microphone CAN be muted/unmuted (and it does light up the light on the button itself). So to say, this is not a big deal and can be worked around just fine.
