Bug Report: Outdated Hyprland windowrule Syntax
Title: Hyprland windowrule syntax in monitors.conf is incompatible with Hyprland v0.53.3+
Description:
The default Hyprland configuration generated by Omarchy uses a windowrule syntax that has been deprecated in Hyprland v0.53.3 and later. This results in configuration
errors when Hyprland is started or reloaded, specifically related to the journal viewer rules in monitors.conf.
Environment:
* Hyprland Version: 0.53.3
* Omarchy Version: 3.3.3
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up an environment using the Omarchy-provided Hyprland configuration.
2. Use or update to Hyprland version 0.53.3 or newer.
3. Start or reload Hyprland.
4. Observe the configuration errors reported by Hyprland, originating from monitors.conf.
Expected Behavior:
The Hyprland configuration should load without any errors.
Actual Behavior:
Hyprland fails to parse monitors.conf and reports errors such as:
* invalid field class:foot-journal: missing a value
* invalid field nofocus: missing a value
* invalid field no_initial_focus: missing a value
Proposed Solution:
The windowrule declarations in ~/.config/hypr/monitors.conf should be updated to conform to the new syntax required by Hyprland v0.53.3+.
Required Changes in ~/.config/hypr/monitors.conf:
1 - windowrule = workspace 9 silent, class:foot-journal
2 - windowrule = fullscreen, class:foot-journal
3 - windowrule = nofocus, class:foot-journal
4 + windowrule = workspace 9 silent,match:class ^(foot-journal)$
5 + windowrule = fullscreen 1,match:class ^(foot-journal)$
6 + windowrule = no_initial_focus 1,match:class ^(foot-journal)$
This change updates the rules to use the required match: prefix, adds the explicit boolean value 1 to fullscreen and no_initial_focus, and corrects nofocus to
no_initial_focus.
