Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

omarchy-launch-or-focus - Missing $ prefix in jq variable referencerevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy 3.4.0

What's wrong?

File: omarchy-launch-or-focus

Line 13 contains a typo in the jq pattern matching logic. The .class test is missing the $ prefix when referencing the variable, causing jq to fail.

The jq expression has inconsistent variable references:
1. .class|test("\\b" + p + "\\b";"i") - uses p without $ (gives jq errors)
2. .title|test("\\b" + $p + "\\b";"i") - uses $p with $ (correct)

This results in the following error when invoking the command:

$ omarchy-launch-or-focus-webapp ".*Microsoft.Teams" "https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/"
jq: error: p/0 is not defined at <top-level>, line 1, column 33:
    .[]|select((.class|test("\\b" + p + "\\b";"i")) or (.title|test("\\b" + $p + "\\b";"i")))|.address

The jq expression has inconsistent variable references:
