Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Add built-in RGB keyboard color control for HP Victus / Omen (stock hp-wmi)revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy 3.4.2 Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa2xxx 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13620H (12+4) @ 4.90z NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Max-Q / Mobile [Discrete] Intel UHD Graphics @ 1.50 GHz [Integrated]

What's wrong?

Many HP Victus 15-fa2xxx and Omen users have RGB keyboards but no easy control on Omarchy (victus-control breaks Fn+F4).

Solution (tested on Victus 15-fa2xxx):
- Direct sysfs control via /sys/class/leds/hp::kbd_backlight/multi_intensity
- Tiny kbdcolor utility in bin/
- udev rule for no-sudo access
- Example binds in bindings.conf

This is zero-overhead and matches Omarchy philosophy.

I have the files ready for a PR.
