ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Makima virtual keyboard breaks touchpad "disable-while-typing"revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:49 UTC via poll

System details

Mi NoteBook Ultra 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TMz Intel Iris Xe Graphics @ 3200x2000 @ 2x in 16", 90 Linux 6.19.8-arch1-1 Hyprland 0.54.2 (Wayland) ghostty 1.3.1-arch1 3.4.2

What's wrong?

Issue:
Makima creates a virtual keyboard that hides physical typing from libinput. This stops Hyprland's disable_while_typing from working.
Steps to fix:
Stop/Disable the systemd service: sudo systemctl stop makima.
Uninstall: sudo pacman -Rns makima-bin.
Proposed Fix:
Don't enable Makima by default unless a Copilot key is actually detected. It’s breaking palm rejection for laptop users who don't need the remap.
