Device: OMEN Laptop 15-en1xxx OS: Omarchy 3.5.0 (stable channel, master branch) Kernel: Linux 6.13.10-arch1-1 Desktop: Hyprland 0.54.3 (Wayland) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile + AMD Radeon Vega (integrated) RAM: 5.15 GiB / 14.96 GiB used walker: 2.15.2-1 (Omarchy repo) elephant: 2.20.3-1 (Omarchy repo, updated ~April 6th 2026)

What's wrong?

After elephant was updated to 2.20.3 on April 6th, the walker menu (SUPER+Space) became slow to open, especially after the system has been idle. The delay ranges from 2-8 seconds.
Root cause:
elephant 2.20.3 was pushed to the Omarchy repo without a matching walker update. The version mismatch causes walker to crash repeatedly with the following errors, then restart via systemd:

Listen loop error: failed to fill whole buffer
Listen menu_loop error: failed to fill whole buffer

Each restart has a

RestartSec=2

delay, causing the menu to feel unresponsive after idle.
To reproduce:

Have elephant 2.20.3 and walker 2.15.2 installed via the Omarchy repo

Leave the system idle for a few minutes (thats what claude says but for me i just have to wait like 10 seconds)

Press SUPER+Space — menu takes several seconds to appear

Confirmation:
Running

journalctl --user -u [email protected]

shows repeated

Scheduled restart job

entries correlating exactly with the slow menu opens.
Expected behaviour:
walker and elephant should be versioned and released together in the Omarchy repo to avoid compatibility breaks.

Same issue with clipboard obviously too.
(Apologies for using AI but ive never done this before so asked claude to help me explain whats wrong, ive also been told to write a report for this version mismatch.)
