Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.
Lid suspend hangs on NVIDIA Optimus laptops (s2idle default + NVIDIA suspend services disabled)

System details
ntel i5-12450H + NVIDIA RTX 2050 (GA107M), Omarchy: 3.8.1
What's wrong?
Problem
On a hybrid Intel + NVIDIA laptop, closing the lid does not produce a working suspend. The machine stays in s2idle with the GPU never properly torn down, gets warm in the bag, drains battery, and
resume hangs the kernel — a single power-button press does nothing and only a long-press force-off recovers it.
## System
- Machine: Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro 15 2022 (TIMI TM2111)
- CPU / GPU: Intel i5-12450H + NVIDIA RTX 2050 (GA107M)
- Omarchy: 3.8.1 · Kernel: 7.0.3-arch1-2 · nvidia-open-dkms: 595.71.05-2
## Root cause
Two defaults stack on hybrid-graphics machines:
1. Kernel sleep state is s2idle, although the firmware supports deep:
$ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
[s2idle] deep
No mem_sleep_default=deep in the Limine cmdline.
2. The NVIDIA driver's helper units are shipped but left disabled, and nvidia.conf doesn't preserve VRAM across suspend:
$ systemctl is-enabled nvidia-{suspend,resume,hibernate}.service
disabled
disabled
disabled
$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf
options nvidia_drm modeset=1
Without NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 and the suspend/resume hooks, the GPU state isn't saved, so resume hangs.
## Reproduce
Install Omarchy on a hybrid Intel + NVIDIA laptop → close the lid for a few minutes → try to wake.
## Suggested fix (for systems where an NVIDIA dGPU is detected)
1. Append mem_sleep_default=deep to KERNEL_CMDLINE in /etc/default/limine when /sys/power/mem_sleep lists deep.
2. Add to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf:
options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1
options nvidia NVreg_TemporaryFilePath=/var/tmp
systemctl enable nvidia-suspend.service nvidia-resume.service nvidia-hibernate.service.
Applying all three locally fixes lid-suspend on this machine — real S3, fans off, single-press wake. Happy to test patches.
