Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Wifi password input box fails to re-appear when wifi-menu is closed and re-opened and a wrong password has been enteredrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:56 UTC via poll

System details

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7

What's wrong?

  1. Enter the wrong password for a Wi-Fi network in the new Omarchy 4 beta Wi-Fi menu
  2. Close the Wi-Fi menu
  3. Re-open the Wi-Fi menu
  4. Click the network — the wrong password is attempted, and no input box / option to change it is offered after it fails

Expected behavior: When the password is detected to be wrong on connection, it seems natural to offer a chance to re-enter it. It is not natural that closing and re-opening the Wi-Fi menu removes that option. Before closing the menu, the input box does appear.

Workaround: Forget the network.

(Sidenote: it is not natural that the lock icon turns into an "x" on hover — having two separate icons would signal this UX behaviour much better. The "x" could appear only on hover if we want the menu to be visually less busy.)
