Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
What happened
After updating to linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3 and rebooting, the internal PS/2 touchpad stopped being enumerated by the kernel entirely — not just unresponsive, but absent from /proc/bus/input/devices, hyprctl devices, and libinput list-devices. The i8042 AUX port (serio1) still registers at boot, but journalctl -k -b shows zero probe/negotiation messages on it afterward (no psmouse activity, no NACK, nothing) — consistent with the device never being probed, not a driver failure.
Expected
Touchpad enumerates normally, as it does on the stock Arch linux kernel.
Steps to reproduce
- On an Alienware m15 Ryzen Ed. R5 (BIOS 1.33.0), update to linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3
- Reboot into linux-omarchy
- Check
/proc/bus/input/devices— noSynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPadentry
A/B confirmation
- linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3: touchpad absent from
/proc/bus/input/devices,libinput list-devices,hyprctl devices - stock
linux7.2.3.arch1-3 (same machine, same boot menu, rebooted via Limine into the other UKI): touchpad present and enumerates correctly asSynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPadoni8042/serio1
This isolates the regression to the linux-omarchy kernel build/config itself (not EC, not BIOS, not Hyprland/omarchy tooling — omarchy toggle touchpad correctly reports the device is genuinely gone at the kernel level, not just software-disabled).
System
- omarchy version: 4.0.4-1
- Hardware: Alienware m15 Ryzen Ed. R5, BIOS/Hardware version 1.33.0 (2026-07-29)
pacman -Q:linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3(broken) vslinux 7.2.3.arch1-3(working)
Other recent reports suggest 7.2.5-3 diverges from stock Arch linux kernel config/behavior in several ways (e.g. #12149 binder disabled, #12131 HDMI audio, #12083 HDMI blanking) — this may be another instance of the same class of regression, possibly a PS/2/serio-related kernel config or patch difference.
