What's wrong?
Summary
The built-in camera on Lunar Lake laptops has never worked on Omarchy, and the intel-ipu7-camera 1.0.6-2 update (omarchy-pkgs#418, merged 2026-09-13) made it worse for the people who had fixed it themselves. The cause is a packaging decision, not a driver mystery: the package is installed on every IPU7 machine by hardware detection but built for Panther Lake only (IPU_VERSIONS="ipu75xa"), so the HAL plugin a Lunar Lake IPU needs (ipu7x) does not exist on the system. A fix has been open since 2026-09-09 — omarchy-pkgs#367, rebased today on top of 1.0.6-2 and verified — with the analysis in omarchy-pkgs#366. Neither has had a reply in a week, while the same PKGBUILD was reworked and released for Panther Lake.
Why this is not one laptop
Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 200V) is the generation right before Panther Lake and sits in exactly the thin, long-battery machines Omarchy is aimed at: Dell Pro 13/14 Premium, XPS 13 9350 and many others. Every one of them gets this package by detection, and the plugin their IPU asks for is not built, so the camera cannot work on any of them. The community fix pack's tracker alone has several people on the Dell Pro 13/14 Premium with this exact stack. Panther Lake got its 7.2 regression fixed in four days (#10948 → omarchy-pkgs#418). Lunar Lake has had no camera for as long as the package has existed.
What's wrong, precisely
Out of the box on 1.0.6-2, journalctl -u v4l2-relayd@ipu7:
CamHAL[ERR] HalAdaptor: load_camera_hal_library, failed to open library:
/usr/lib/libcamhal/plugins/ipu7x.so: No such file or directory
CamHAL[WAR] CameraParserInvoker: parseSensors: No sensors availablelibcamhal selects its plugin by IPU generation. The proprietary half for ipu7x (libia_aic-ipu7x.so and the rest) is already shipped from ipu7-camera-bins; only the plugin the HAL loads is missing, and it builds from the same pinned commit with one more entry in IPU_VERSIONS. Second, the relay pipeline hardcodes videoflip method=rotate-180 for a sensor that on this board is mounted upright (camera_sensor_rotation = 0, camera_orientation = Front), so once the plugin exists the picture is upside down in every app.
Steps to reproduce: install Omarchy 4.0.4 on a Dell Pro 14 Premium, open anything that uses the camera. Nothing to configure, nothing to click.
What the 1.0.6-2 update did on this machine
Since 2026-09-09 this laptop had RGB, IR and the privacy LED working: the community pack (jibsta210/svp7500-camera-fix-pack) for the kernel side, the ipu7x plugin from omarchy-pkgs#367 for the HAL. 1.0.6-2 introduced its own intel-cvs DKMS module under the same module name; DKMS installed it over the pack's during omarchy update, intel_cvs deferred with CSI init failed, the sensor never got its I2C adapter, and RGB was dead on both installed kernels, so booting the previous kernel did not help. Nothing in the update said a same-named kernel module was being introduced; the loaded module's srcversion was the only clue, and finding it cost an evening.
What works — verified today on 1.0.6-2 + linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3
The kernel half of #418 is right for Lunar Lake too: with the package's own intel-cvs/1.0.6 and the in-tree ipu-bridge, ov08x40 joins the media graph behind Intel CVS on this board exactly as on the XPS 14. With omarchy-pkgs#367 on top (build ipu7x, its CVS pad formats, no rotation on INTC10DE): sensor resolved by the HAL, 30 fps on /dev/video50, upright image in a browser, makepkg builds.
Four more small things complete the camera on this board, each with evidence in omarchy-pkgs#366 and carried locally: a probe-order fix in camera-init (the sensor's I2C bus is still owned by the bridge firmware when its sleep 2 expires), a one-flag quirk change in the in-tree cvs driver for the privacy LED, one upstream hunk in ipu-bridge for the HM1092 IR sensor (mainline 7.3), and the psys s2idle patch. I can send each as its own PR.
Ask
A decision on omarchy-pkgs#366 / #367: take the Lunar Lake half of the package, or say the platform is out of scope and stop installing the package on INTC10DE boards. Either is fine. Silence is the only outcome that helps nobody.
