Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

MacBook Pro Retina, 2013 Intel x86_64, Omarchy 4.0.0 ISO image version: 2026.08.14, Installation method: Omarchy ISO flashed with Balena Etcher
What's wrong?
Hi! I'm trying to install Omarchy on a 2013 Retina MacBook Pro (Intel).
I downloaded the Omarchy 4.0.0 ISO from the official website about 20 minutes before trying the installation and flashed it to a USB using Balena Etcher.
The installation consistently fails during the "Installing Arch + Omarchy" / pacstrap stage with:
gst-plugin-gtk-1.28.6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
The installer reports that it cannot retrieve this package and then fails with:
ERROR: Failed to install packages to new root
I checked my internet connection from the installer shell:
ping -c 4 1.1.1.1 works
ping -c 4 archlinux.org works
curl -I https://mirror.omarchy.org/ returns HTTP 301 (redirects to omarchy.org)
I also checked /etc/pacman.conf and found that the installer is using:
Server = file:///var/cache/omarchy/mirror/offline/
I checked that directory and there is no gst-plugin-gtk package in the offline mirror.
The ISO reports:
BUILD_ID="4.0.0"
IMAGE_VERSION=2026.08.14
Is the offline package mirror in the current ISO missing gst-plugin-gtk-1.28.6-1?
Thanks!
