Proof Portal
Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
Intel Core 5 320, Intel Wildcat Lake integrated graphics (xe driver), Omarchy 4.0.0.r1849.g83881e9-1, Hyprland 0.56.2, Linux 7.1.9-arch1-2. Internal 2560x1600 display at scale 2.
Affected apps observed: Obsidian 1.13.7-2 / Electron 43.4.1 and 1Password 8.12.34-34.
What's wrong?
Setting Omarchy's global text size below the default can make Electron render its entire window surface smaller than the Hyprland window, anchored at the top-left. The remainder of the compositor window is transparent and shows the wallpaper underneath.
On this machine:
$ omarchy display text size
text size: 10 px
gtk text-scaling-factor: 0.81820000000000004
terminal font: 8 ptThe screenshot shows Obsidian's rendered surface occupying approximately 81.8% of the compositor window in both dimensions, matching the GNOME text scaling factor. The same graphical corruption occurs in 1Password.
This appears to be the inverse and broader form of #8574: that issue documents factors above 1 clipping fixed-size 1Password dialogs, while a factor below 1 causes the complete Electron surface to undershoot the compositor window. PR #8575 only special-cases 1Password, so it would not address Obsidian or other Electron applications.
Steps to reproduce:
- Run
omarchy display text size 10. - Fully quit and relaunch Obsidian or 1Password so it inherits the new settings.
- Open or resize the main application window.
- Observe that the content is rendered at about 81.8% size in the top-left, leaving transparent space on the right and bottom.
Expected: the requested text size changes application text/UI sizing while the rendered surface continues to fill the Hyprland window.
Additional detail: both affected applications currently have disable-gpu launch overrides, so software rendering may be part of the trigger. Obsidian is launched with -disable-gpu; 1Password with --disable-gpu. Omarchy exports ELECTRON_OZONE_PLATFORM_HINT=wayland, GDK_SCALE=2, and has xwayland.force_zero_scaling=true.
