Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Nautilus: Dragging a file or folder from a second drive to another moves by default, instead of copy, as well as no ctrl modifier works.revision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

System details

Thinkpad carbon X1 9th gen 32gb ram

What's wrong?

In Nautilus, when dragging a file or folder from one physical drive to another the default behaviors is supposed to be to copy. Using a modifier can indicate a move (e.g holding shift or ctrl).

However in Omarchy the default behavior is a move. Also holding any modifier does not change it to copy (or indicate a copy). The only way to do it is by copy/pasting the file or folder.

This can have catastrophic effects if someone intends a copy but gets a move without noticing.
