Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Quickshell aborts while showing lockscreen surfaces without an active lockrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 12:10 UTC via poll

Quickshell repeatedly crashed under Omarchy 4.0.2 while recovering the lockscreen.

Observed:
- Process: quickshell
- Signal: SIGABRT
- Time: 2026-09-07 04:23:37 CET
- Command: quickshell -n -p /usr/share/omarchy/shell
- Quickshell: 0.3.1-1
- Qt: 6.11.2
- GPU: Intel i915

Immediately before the crash, the journal reported:

FATAL: Tried to show lockscreen surfaces without active lock

The backtrace shows abort() through Qt6Core/QDebug, followed by Qt6Qml property writes, QML signal evaluation, and QQmlTimer processing.

The shell was repeatedly reloading the user plugin clutch.power at the same time. This may be a trigger or race participant, but the crash appears to be an Omarchy shell lock-state race.

The shell restarted automatically. No user-data loss was observed.

A previous Quickshell crash occurred on 2026-09-06, with a distinct SIGSEGV in the polkit-agent path.
