ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System
- Machine: Dell XPS 13 DX13260 (2026), Intel Core Ultra 7 355 (Panther Lake)
- Audio hardware: Cirrus Logic CS42L43 codec + 2x CS35L56A smart amps over SoundWire (Dell's "Bolan" platform)
- Omarchy: 4.0.3
- Kernel: linux-ptl 7.2.3.arch1-1
- sof-firmware: 2025.12.2-1 (also reproduces on 2025.12.1-1)
- linux-firmware-cirrus: 20260810-2
Problem
No sound from the internal speakers. wpctl status / pactl show no real sink initially ("Dummy Output"); after some combination of reboots the ASoC card does instantiate correctly (a real "Core Ultra Processors (Series 3) HD Audio Speaker" sink appears), but the speakers still produce no audible output. Headphones/external audio are not affected by this report (untested but likely fine, since that path doesn't go through the CS35L56 amps).

What I've ruled out
- Not a volume/mute/routing issue —
SpeakerandAMPL/AMPR Speakercontrols are unmuted at reasonable levels, and the CS42L43-side DAPM routes (cs42l43 Speaker L/R Input 1→ASPRX1/ASPRX2) are correctly set. - Not fixed by downgrading
sof-firmwareto 2025.12.1-1 (which does avoid the ABI-mismatch card-instantiation failure, but the tuning-ID read failure is identical on both versions) — nor by reverting back to 2025.12.2-1, since the card instantiation issue turned out to be non-deterministic/boot-order-dependent rather than tied to the firmware version. - The per-OEM calibration
.binfiles for Dell (cs35l56-b0-dsp1-misc-10280c62/63-spkid{0,1}-amp{1..4}.bin) are present on disk in the currentlinux-firmware-cirrus.
Suspected root cause
This looks like the kernel driver not yet reading the CS35L56's on-chip speaker-ID GPIOs, which is needed to select which of the above per-OEM calibration files applies. There's a matching upstream patch, "ASoC: cs35l56: Support for reading speaker ID from on-chip GPIOs" (Richard Fitzgerald, Feb 2026: https://lkml.org/lkml/2026/2/5/1245), and a related Dell-specific 18-patch series for exactly this "Bolan" (CS42L43+CS35L56A on Panther Lake) platform: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2026-March/166318.html
If linux-ptl doesn't yet carry that GPIO speaker-ID patch, that would explain this. Happy to test a kernel build that includes it, or provide any other diagnostics.
