Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
What happened
omarchy toggle bar on does not show the bar — it hides it (or is a no-op if already hidden). omarchy toggle bar off is what actually makes the bar visible.
Root cause
/usr/share/omarchy/bin/omarchy-toggle-bar forwards its argument unmodified to the generic flag helper:
omarchy-toggle bar-off "${1:-toggle}"The underlying flag is named bar-off (its presence means "the bar is off/hidden"). The generic omarchy-toggle script treats on as "create the flag" and off as "remove the flag":
on) enable ;; # creates $HOME/.local/state/omarchy/toggles/bar-off -> bar hidden
off) disable ;; # removes it -> bar shownSo passing the user-facing on/off straight through to a flag whose name is already negated inverts the command's advertised meaning.
Expected behavior
omarchy toggle bar on→ bar becomes visibleomarchy toggle bar off→ bar becomes hidden
Steps to reproduce
- Confirm the bar is visible.
- Run
omarchy toggle bar off→ bar disappears (correct, matches the command name). - Run
omarchy toggle bar on→ bar stays hidden (bug — should reappear). - Run
omarchy toggle bar offagain → bar reappears (confirmsoffis the one that shows it).
Can also be confirmed statically by reading /usr/share/omarchy/bin/omarchy-toggle-bar and /usr/bin/omarchy-toggle — the inversion is in the flag naming/argument-passthrough, not something that needs a specific machine to reproduce.

**What happened**
`omarchy toggle bar on` does not show the bar — it hides it (or is a no-op if already hidden). `omarchy toggle bar off` is what actually makes the bar visible.
**Root cause**
`/usr/share/omarchy/bin/omarchy-toggle-bar` forwards its argument unmodified to the generic flag helper:
```bash
omarchy-toggle bar-off "${1:-toggle}"
```
The underlying flag is named `bar-off` (its *presence* means "the bar is off/hidden"). The generic `omarchy-toggle` script treats `on` as "create the flag" and `off` as "remove the flag":
```bash
on) enable ;; # creates $HOME/.local/state/omarchy/toggles/bar-off -> bar hidden
off) disable ;; # removes it -> bar shown
```
So passing the user-facing `on`/`off` straight through to a flag whose name is already negated inverts the command's advertised meaning.
**Expected behavior**
- `omarchy toggle bar on` → bar becomes visible
- `omarchy toggle bar off` → bar becomes hidden
**Steps to reproduce**
1. Confirm the bar is visible.
2. Run `omarchy toggle bar off` → bar disappears (correct, matches the command name).
3. Run `omarchy toggle bar on` → bar stays hidden (bug — should reappear).
4. Run `omarchy toggle bar off` again → bar reappears (confirms `off` is the one that shows it).
Can also be confirmed statically by reading `/usr/share/omarchy/bin/omarchy-toggle-bar` and `/usr/bin/omarchy-toggle` — the inversion is in the flag naming/argument-passthrough, not something that needs a specific machine to reproduce.
