Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System details
Radeon HD 6730M/6770M linux-omarchy (7.2.5)
What's wrong?
After the 4.0.4 update, this machine (Apple iMac12,2, Mid-2011, AMD Radeon HD
6730M/6770M [1002:6740], legacy radeon driver) freezes periodically: the display
(including the cursor) locks up while audio keeps playing and keystrokes appear
after it recovers.
Root cause appears to be the newer kernel, not omarchy itself:
- linux 7.1.9.arch1-2 -> no freezes
- linux 7.2.3.arch1-3 -> freezes
- linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3 -> freezes
Both the Arch linux 7.2.x and linux-omarchy 7.2.x are affected, so it looks like
a radeon regression in the 7.2 series (upstream). Filing here because linux-omarchy
is the new default and other users on older AMD GPUs may hit the same thing.
Workaround for users: boot linux 7.1.9 or linux-lts, and keep the default boot
entry off linux-omarchy until the 7.2 radeon issue is resolved.
