Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details

Omarchy dev channel, updated since October 7

What's wrong?

(dev channel) The mouse cursor is missing after updating past October 7 2026.

In one case I first noticed it after waking a laptop from sleep, and for the other I noticed it after reboot (suggested due to kernel update)

I don't have any customization or plugin related to the mouse cursor and the themes were different on both machines.
Disabling any customization of ~/.config/hypr/*.conf and reloading hyprland did not restore the mouse cursor.

The quick fix is to run the terminal command

hyprctl setcursor Adwaita 24 && hyprctl reload

Once run the mouse cursor remains after reboot. I'm a little perplexed by that fact.

note:
You could choose a different cursor size, I chose 24

You could choose a different cursor icon theme, I chose Adwaita
for alternatives see /usr/share/icons/ or ~/.config/omarchy/themes/(select themes with icons)/icons/
