Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Bug report
After the idle cycle triggers the screensaver and lock, waking the machine with the mouse leaves the external monitor black. Only a full reboot restores the external display.
Environment
- Omarchy 4.0.3-1, Hyprland 0.56.2, kernel 7.2.3-arch1-3
- Laptop: Dell G15 5511 (i7-11800H, RTX 3060 Mobile / hybrid GPU, NVIDIA driver 610.57.04)
- eDP-1 (LG internal 1920x1080) + HDMI-A-1 (Samsung Odyssey G60SD, 2560x1440@360)
- Monitors configured in extended mode, no mirroring involved
Steps to reproduce
- Leave the laptop inactive. Default idle: screensaver at 150s, lock at 300s (observed in
~/.config/omarchy/shell.json). - Move the mouse to wake the session.
- eDP-1 wakes normally; HDMI-A-1 stays black. Moving windows between monitors shows eDP-1 works.
- Only
omarchy system reboot(or full reboot) brings the external monitor back.
Observed
- Idle logs confirm the normal cycle:
idle-monitor: idle→idle-cycle-start→ screensaver launch →lock-system: lock-timeout→ wake (see journal excerpt below). - No
monitoradded/monitorremovedevent fires during DPMS wake, so the monitor-watch recovery never triggers. - Boot journal shows
nvidia-modeset: WARNING: GPU:0: Unable to read EDID for display device Samsung Odyssey G60SD (HDMI-0)— the external panel is reached over the NVIDIA GPU/Hybrid path.

- The external monitor should wake from DPMS along with the internal one, without requiring a reboot.
