Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System details
Omarchy 4.0.3, Thinkpad P14s Gen4, Intel Core i7-1370P, Nvidia RTX A500, 32GB RAM
What's wrong?
I switched to Omarchy about two weeks ago.
Ever since using Omarchy, the CPU heats up incredibly quickly to 75-80C even when there's only one Chromium tab or one Neovim instance running (well below 5% CPU usage). Naturally, the fan is constantly running like crazy.
Switching the power profile from "performance" to "balanced" alleviates this somewhat, but not fully (the temp drops by about 5-10C). And on "balanced" the CPU then doesn't seem to scale up quickly enough when running more demanding applications.
I've always been on Ubuntu 24.04 before that and never had a similar problem. I've always used the "performance" power profile and the CPU only got hot when I maxed all cores out with heavy tasks.
