Proof Portal
Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System details
- Omarchy 4.0.3-1
- Vivobook ASUSLaptop X1504VA
- Kernel 7.2.4-arch1-2
- WiFi: MediaTek MT7902 (mt7921e driver)
What happened
On fresh install, WiFi auto-connects to the 2.4GHz band even though the router broadcasts the same SSID on 5GHz. The system keeps using 2.4GHz by default.
What was expected
Prefer 5GHz when available. 5GHz gives much faster speed and lower latency.
What I measured
- 2.4GHz (auto-selected): 17.2 Mbit/s RX, ~565ms ping
- 5GHz (manual switch): 309.7 Mbit/s RX, ~46ms ping
Workaround
I had to switch manually to 5GHz. Should not need this on a fresh install.
