What's wrong?
The Voxtype installer and the Dictation menu entries look for the package voxtype-bin. The dictation keybindings look for the voxtype command instead. When voxtype comes from another package, or voxtype-bin isn't available, the two disagree.
Where
bin/omarchy-voxtype-installrunsomarchy-pkg-add wtype voxtype-binunconditionally.default/omarchy/omarchy-menu.jsonc:install.ai.dictationisdisabledwhenomarchy-pkg-present voxtype-bin, andremove.ai.dictationshowswhenomarchy-pkg-present voxtype-bin.default/hypr/bindings/voxtype.luabinds F9 and Super+Ctrl+X wheno.cmd_present("voxtype").
Effects
- With the AUR
voxtype(source build) orvoxtype-bin-rcinstalled, dictation works and the keys are bound. Install > AI > Dictation stays enabled, Remove > AI > Dictation is hidden, and the installer would try to addvoxtype-bin, whichconflicts=('voxtype'). - Where
voxtype-binisn't available, the install fails. Here that's aarch64: the AURvoxtype-binisarch=('x86_64'), although upstream voxtype 1.0.1 ships aarch64 binaries. Running Install > AI > Dictation ended with:
bash: line 1: voxtype: command not found
● Done! Press any key to close...Installing the AUR voxtype package by hand works, including Vulkan on the Apple M1 GPU. After that, the menu still reports dictation as not installed.
Suggested fix
Check for the command the way the bindings already do:
- In
omarchy-voxtype-install, skipomarchy-pkg-addwhenomarchy-cmd-present voxtype, and install onlywtypein that case. - In the menu, use
"disabled": "omarchy-cmd-present voxtype"forinstall.ai.dictationand"when": "omarchy-cmd-present voxtype"forremove.ai.dictation.
omarchy-voxtype-remove has a related gap. It already gates on omarchy-cmd-present voxtype, but then runs omarchy-pkg-drop voxtype-bin, which skips packages that aren't installed. With the AUR voxtype package, it disables the service and deletes the config and models but leaves voxtype installed. It could drop whichever of voxtype-bin, voxtype-bin-rc and voxtype is present.

### What's wrong?
The Voxtype installer and the Dictation menu entries look for the package `voxtype-bin`. The dictation keybindings look for the `voxtype` command instead. When voxtype comes from another package, or `voxtype-bin` isn't available, the two disagree.
**Where**
- `bin/omarchy-voxtype-install` runs `omarchy-pkg-add wtype voxtype-bin` unconditionally.
- `default/omarchy/omarchy-menu.jsonc`: `install.ai.dictation` is `disabled` when `omarchy-pkg-present voxtype-bin`, and `remove.ai.dictation` shows `when` `omarchy-pkg-present voxtype-bin`.
- `default/hypr/bindings/voxtype.lua` binds F9 and Super+Ctrl+X when `o.cmd_present("voxtype")`.
**Effects**
- With the AUR `voxtype` (source build) or `voxtype-bin-rc` installed, dictation works and the keys are bound. Install > AI > Dictation stays enabled, Remove > AI > Dictation is hidden, and the installer would try to add `voxtype-bin`, which `conflicts=('voxtype')`.
- Where `voxtype-bin` isn't available, the install fails. Here that's aarch64: the AUR `voxtype-bin` is `arch=('x86_64')`, although upstream voxtype 1.0.1 ships aarch64 binaries. Running Install > AI > Dictation ended with:
```
bash: line 1: voxtype: command not found
● Done! Press any key to close...
```
Installing the AUR `voxtype` package by hand works, including Vulkan on the Apple M1 GPU. After that, the menu still reports dictation as not installed.
**Suggested fix**
Check for the command the way the bindings already do:
- In `omarchy-voxtype-install`, skip `omarchy-pkg-add` when `omarchy-cmd-present voxtype`, and install only `wtype` in that case.
- In the menu, use `"disabled": "omarchy-cmd-present voxtype"` for `install.ai.dictation` and `"when": "omarchy-cmd-present voxtype"` for `remove.ai.dictation`.
`omarchy-voxtype-remove` has a related gap. It already gates on `omarchy-cmd-present voxtype`, but then runs `omarchy-pkg-drop voxtype-bin`, which skips packages that aren't installed. With the AUR `voxtype` package, it disables the service and deletes the config and models but leaves voxtype installed. It could drop whichever of `voxtype-bin`, `voxtype-bin-rc` and `voxtype` is present.
