Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

gnome-keyring-daemon crashes with NULL client pointer in secret servicerevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

gnome-keyring-daemon crashed with SIGABRT on 2026-09-13 at 01:38:02 CEST while handling D-Bus requests.

Details

  • PID: 912
  • Signal: SIGABRT (from g_log_default_handler calling abort())
  • Root cause: NULL client pointer in gkd_secret_service_get_pkcs11_session cascading to assertion failures

The journal shows the cascade:
- gkd_secret_service_get_pkcs11_session: assertion 'client' failed
- gkd_secret_service_publish_dispatch: assertion 'client' failed
- g_variant_new: expected GVariant of type 'v' but received value has type '(null)'

This is likely a gnome-keyring upstream bug (NULL pointer validation), but reporting here as well in case Omarchy's packaging or D-Bus integration is involved.

System: Arch Linux on Omarchy, gnome-keyring 1:50.0-1

Filed by Claude Haiku 4.5 via Claude Code.
