Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

What's wrong?
After updating Omarchy, pressing Super+C in Foot behaves like Ctrl+C and interrupts the foreground command instead of copying. The existing Foot configuration still has the older clipboard bindings:
[key-bindings]
clipboard-copy=Control+Insert
primary-paste=none
clipboard-paste=Shift+InsertCommit https://github.com/omacom/omarchy/commit/129c67e25a1ae0e054d13a2ccb1c5edb790aaf09 (September 22, "Add select all and standard terminal clipboard shortcuts") changed the terminal branch of the universal clipboard bindings:
Super+C:Ctrl+Insert->Ctrl+Shift+CSuper+V:Shift+Insert->Ctrl+Shift+V
The commit changes only default/hypr/bindings/clipboard.lua. I could not find a corresponding migration in the installed version to add the new chords to existing Foot configurations.
The current packaged Foot template already accepts both sets of shortcuts, but existing user configurations can still contain only the Insert bindings. With that configuration, Foot does not consume the new copy chord as a clipboard action and it reaches the foreground program as an interrupt. The paste binding has the same configuration mismatch.
This affects upgrades retaining those older Foot bindings; fresh installations using the current template should already have the required mappings.
Steps to reproduce
- Use Foot with the three
[key-bindings]entries shown above. - Use Omarchy's clipboard bindings from commit
129c67e2or later. - Open a new Foot window and run a disposable foreground command such as
sleep 60. - Press
Super+C. - Observe that the command is interrupted instead of the shortcut being handled as terminal copy.
Expected: Super+C copies Foot's terminal selection and does not interrupt the foreground command; Super+V pastes the clipboard.
Evidence and local workaround
- The running Foot windows have the
terminal*tag, including throughhl.get_active_window().tags, so this is not a terminal-class detection failure. - Hyprland reports the active
Super+Cbinding asUniversal copyand reports no configuration errors. - Cached
omarchy-settings-devpackager2014.gf99d33auses the Insert chords. Packager2256.gc3e67f5, installed here on September 25, already uses the new Ctrl+Shift chords;r2304.g7b336b1retains them. - The existing Foot config was last modified September 13, before the shortcut change.
I added the mappings from the current packaged template locally:
clipboard-copy=Control+Insert Control+Shift+c XF86Copy
primary-paste=none
clipboard-paste=Shift+Insert Control+Shift+v XF86Pastefoot --check-config passes. Existing Foot windows retain their startup configuration, so new windows are required to pick up these changes. Interactive confirmation of the workaround is still pending.
A targeted, idempotent migration that adds the missing copy/paste chords while preserving user customizations would address the upgrade path.
I checked the related reports: #12827 concerns keyboard selections inside TUIs, and #6379 concerns terminal tagging. This report concerns the new injected chords not matching an existing Foot configuration.
The documented omarchy debug --no-sudo --print command is unavailable in this installed development version ("Unknown Omarchy command"); relevant version and configuration diagnostics are included above.
