Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

plugins.omarchy.org shows broken 'omarchy bar plugin add' command for first-party pluginsrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

What happened

On plugins.omarchy.org, first-party plugin detail pages show an "Add to bar" command that doesn't work. Example: https://plugins.omarchy.org/plugin.html?id=omarchy.tray shows:

❯ omarchy bar plugin add omarchy.tray

Running it fails:

$ omarchy bar plugin add omarchy.tray
omarchy-bar: unknown command: plugin

omarchy bar has no plugin subcommand — plugin is its own top-level command group. Even corrected to omarchy plugin add omarchy.tray, it still wouldn't work: omarchy-plugin-add always requires a git URL and clones a repo (see its usage: omarchy plugin add [git-url] [--enable] [--yes]); it has no code path for a bare first-party plugin id.

For a plugin that already ships with Omarchy (like omarchy.tray or omarchy.tailscale), the correct command is:

omarchy plugin enable omarchy.tray

Expected behavior

The "Add to bar" command shown for first-party/bundled plugins should be omarchy plugin enable <id>, not omarchy bar plugin add <id>.

For comparison, third-party plugin pages generate the correct command already — e.g. https://plugins.omarchy.org/plugin.html?id=crmne.hyprmoncfg correctly shows:

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/crmne/omarchy-hyprmoncfg.git --enable

So the bug appears specific to how the site templates the copyable command for first-party plugins.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Visit any first-party plugin page on plugins.omarchy.org, e.g. ?id=omarchy.tray or ?id=omarchy.tailscale.
  2. Copy the "Add to bar" command shown.
  3. Run it in a terminal on an Omarchy system.
  4. Observe: omarchy-bar: unknown command: plugin.

`omarchy bar` has no `plugin` subcommand — `plugin` is its own top-level command group.
