Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
Hardware
MacBookPro11,5 (2015, pre-T2). The built-in camera is a PCI device with no driver bound and no video node:
05:00.0 Multimedia controller: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries 720p FaceTime HD Camera
$ readlink /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:05:00.0/driver -> (nothing)
$ ls /dev/video* -> No such file or directorydmesg is silent -- the kernel never probes it. Nothing in-tree drives this part; modinfo finds neither facetimehd nor bdc_pci.
Why
The 1570 needs the out-of-tree bcwc_pcie driver plus Apple firmware extracted from BootCamp. Omarchy has zero references to either (no install leaf, no package, manual only covers external webcams). So every pre-T2 Mac with this camera -- roughly the 2013-2015 generations -- has a dead built-in camera out of the box.
Precedent
#5131 proposed facetimehd-* packages for T2 and was closed on the finding that T2 is already covered by apple-bce + uvcvideo in linux-t2. Its closing note explicitly says the facetimehd stack is for pre-T2 1570 cameras -- i.e. exactly this gap, still open.
Options (for the maintainer's call)
- Document the manual path (AUR facetimehd-dkms-git + facetimehd-firmware) in the Mac support manual.
- Installer leaf for pre-T2 1570 machines. Caveats found while researching: the stable facetimehd-dkms (0.7.0.2-1) looks dead with 0 votes; the live one is facetimehd-dkms-git (32 votes). DKMS rebuilds on Omarchy's kernel cadence plus a firmware package from outside linux-firmware is real maintenance surface, and #8271 shows Apple-firmware handling needs care.
- Deliberate wontfix with the manual path documented.
I have this 11,5 on hand and can test an install path (DKMS build, firmware, reboot, /dev/video + capture check) if a direction is chosen.
