Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Fingerprint auth prompt is easy to miss: add visual/audio attention cuerevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

The fingerprint authentication prompt (PAM/fprintd, e.g. when sudo asks for a finger) is a plain terminal text line. During long work sessions the eye skips right past it, and the auth request times out — blocking sudo/polkit/lock-screen actions that need it.

Request: an attention cue when fingerprint auth is requested — e.g. highlight the prompt in yellow/red and/or play a short sound (OSD-level or lock-screen level, where graphics and audio are available; the PAM text itself cannot carry this).

This matters most on machines where fingerprint is the primary auth method: a missed prompt silently stalls whatever needed authorization.
