Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

hyprland-preview-share-picker-git package is pinned to a Dec 2025 build, missing the upstream origin-offset fix (merged Aug 2026)revision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

What happened

The Outputs tab of the share picker (hyprland-preview-share-picker, invoked via
xdph.conf's custom_picker_binary) renders monitor cards off-screen — so one or
more monitors silently disappear from the picker — whenever the active Hyprland
monitor layout has no output anchored at x=0/y=0 (e.g. after hyprmoncfg saves a
freshly dragged/custom layout where every output sits at a positive offset).

This is a known upstream bug, already fixed:
https://github.com/WhySoBad/hyprland-preview-share-picker/issues/15
https://github.com/WhySoBad/hyprland-preview-share-picker/issues/24
Fix merged upstream 2026-08-24 (commit 7de17354 / PR merged as 0ef9b302).

The omarchy repo's hyprland-preview-share-picker-git package is still built
from commit 211b789 (pkgver 0.2.1.r0.g211b789-1), built 2025-12-13 —
before the fix. The non--git hyprland-preview-share-picker package (0.2.1-1)
is also affected since upstream hasn't tagged a release containing the fix yet.

Expected

hyprland-preview-share-picker-git should track upstream HEAD (or at least be
rebuilt past 0ef9b302) so the Outputs tab works correctly regardless of monitor
layout origin.

System

  • Omarchy: 4.0.2-1
  • Hyprland: 0.56.2 (efb50993780079460b0cbed1363e2166a2de1d9f)
  • xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland: 1.4.1-1
  • hyprland-preview-share-picker-git: 0.2.1.r0.g211b789-1
  • GPU: AMD HawkPoint (amdgpu)
  • Multi-monitor: eDP-1 (internal) + DP-8 (Samsung QN90D), managed via hyprmoncfg

Repro

  1. Set a Hyprland monitor layout where no output has x=0 or y=0 (e.g. via

hyprmoncfg TUI, saving a custom drag-arranged layout).
2. Trigger the share picker (screen share in a browser/Electron app), open the
Outputs tab.
3. One or both monitor cards render off-screen / don't appear.

Workaround: re-anchor the layout so at least one output sits at (0,0) — same
relative positions, just shifted.
