Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System details
Omarchy version: 4.0.3-1 (also reproduced on 4.0.2-1 — survived the update) Component: omarchy-shell, network panel (/usr/share/omarchy/shell/plugins/panels/network/Panel.qml) Hardware: Intel AX200 (iwlwifi), kernel 7.2.3-arch1-3
What's wrong?
The network panel in omarchy-shell periodically logs a QML "binding loop detected for property 'height'" warning. Immediately after, omarchy-shell issues a full NetworkManager connection re-activation for the wifi device — not a reconnect-in-place, but a full deactivate → deauthenticate → re-authenticate → re-associate → fresh DHCPv4 + DHCPv6 lease cycle. This takes 10–16 seconds of total network loss each time — long enough to drop VoIP calls (Microsoft Teams), cut audio streams (Tidal), and stall video (YouTube).
Happens spontaneously, roughly every 5–15 minutes, no obvious user interaction required. Reproduces on multiple wifi profiles/SSIDs (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and is unrelated to duplicate saved connection profiles (removed one, bug persisted).
Evidence
QML warning immediately preceding each incident:
omarchy-shell[PID]: WARN scene: QML PanelSectionHeader at file:///usr/share/omarchy/shell/plugins/panels/network/Panel.qml[1513:15]: Binding loop detected for property "height"
omarchy-shell[PID]: WARN: file:///usr/share/omarchy/shell/plugins/panels/network/Panel.qml:1804:11: QML QQuickText: Binding loop detected for property "height"
NetworkManager forced re-activation, attributed directly to the omarchy-shell PID:
NetworkManager: audit: op="connection-activate" uuid="..." name="<ssid>" pid=<omarchy-shell pid> uid=1000 result="success"
NetworkManager: device (wlp9s0): disconnecting for new activation request.
kernel: wlp9s0: deauthenticating from <bssid> by local choice (Reason: 3=DEAUTH_LEAVING)
... full re-auth / re-associate / DHCPv4 + DHCPv6 renewal ...
NetworkManager: device (wlp9s0): Activation: successful, device activated.
Observed occurrences (local time):
- 2026-09-09 22:35:23 → 22:35:42 — wifi down ~16s, coincided exactly with Steam logging a live download failure, confirming a real total outage
- 2026-09-10 09:12:57 — forced reconnect on FASTWEB-HORODNICHEV-5G
- 2026-09-10 09:18:43 — binding loop warning only, no reconnect that time
- 2026-09-10 09:28:34 — forced reconnect on a different saved profile
- 2026-09-10 09:47:18 → 09:47:35 — recurred even after deleting a duplicate connection profile
Impact
Teams calls drop audio/cut out, Tidal playback cuts out, YouTube stalls — any real-time or streaming traffic briefly but completely interrupted.
Ruled out during investigation
Weak signal/DFS interference, ISP/router issues, duplicate connection profiles, the known iwlwifi powersave latency bug (already mitigated on this system and confirmed active).
