Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Open whatsapp:// links in the bundled WhatsApp web apprevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

System details

Dell XPS 13, Omarchy 4.0.2-1, Chromium web app

What's wrong?

The bundled WhatsApp web app does not register the whatsapp:// URI scheme. Clicking a WhatsApp protocol link therefore cannot open the existing web app, even though the same integration already exists for Zoom protocol links.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Keep the bundled WhatsApp web app installed.
  2. Open whatsapp://send?phone=15551234567&text=Hello from a browser or xdg-open.
  3. Observe that the link is not routed into the WhatsApp web app.

The bundled launcher should translate supported whatsapp://send links to https://web.whatsapp.com/send while preserving ordinary launcher behavior and respecting users who removed the preinstalled app.
