Proof Portal
Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
omarchy-update-available, which drives the existing system-update bar widget, checks only for an Omarchy package or dev-checkout update. It does not check mise-managed tools such as claude, codex, or gh.
Those tools are refreshed by omarchy update (through omarchy-update-mise), but when the Omarchy package is current there is no prompt to run that update. A mise tool can therefore remain outdated indefinitely unless the user updates it manually or happens to run omarchy update for another reason. A reboot does not currently update mise tools either.
Proposal
Add a separate bar indicator for outdated mise-managed tools. It should periodically check mise outdated, remain visible while updates are available, and open omarchy-update-mise when clicked.
Keeping this separate preserves the documented meaning of the existing omarchy.system-update widget: a new Omarchy release is available. It also gives mise staleness a persistent, current-state signal rather than a one-time notification.
Environment
- Omarchy 4.0.2-1
- mise tools pinned to
"latest": claude, codex, gh
