Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Description
When Sublime Text is installed, the Sublime Text row never appears in Setup → Default Editor in the launcher menu, and omarchy-launch-editor silently falls back to nvim even after omarchy default editor sublime_text succeeds.
Both failures share one cause: the shipped guard and the launcher test for a sublime_text command, but the Arch package (sublime-text-4 4.4215-1) only puts subl on PATH (/usr/bin/subl). /opt/sublime_text/sublime_text exists but isn't on PATH. omarchy-cmd-present is a plain command -v wrapper, so it fails for sublime_text.
Affected code:
default/omarchy/omarchy-menu.jsonc:164:
"setup.default.editor.sublime": {"label":"Sublime Text","when":"omarchy-cmd-present sublime_text","action":"omarchy-default-editor sublime_text"}bin/omarchy-launch-editor:21:
omarchy-cmd-present "$editor" || editor="nvim"Steps to reproduce
- Install Sublime Text (
sublis the only command the package provides) - Open launcher → Setup → Default Editor: Neovim/VSCode/Cursor/etc. are listed, Sublime Text is missing
omarchy default editor sublime_text→ reports "Sublime Text is now the default editor"omarchy launch editor→ nvim opens instead of Sublime
Expected
Sublime Text appears in the Default Editor menu like other editors, and omarchy launch editor opens it.
Actual
Menu row hidden; launcher silently falls back to nvim.
Workaround
ln -s /usr/bin/subl ~/.local/bin/sublime_textThis makes the menu row appear and the launcher work.
Suggested fix
Either check subl in the menu guard (or accept both names), or have omarchy default editor sublime_text normalize to the subl command.
Diagnostics
$ omarchy-cmd-present sublime_text; echo $?
1
$ command -v subl
/usr/bin/subl
$ pacman -Qo /usr/bin/subl
/usr/bin/subl is owned by sublime-text-4 4.4215-1
$ omarchy default editor
sublime_text(omarchy debug is not available in 4.0.4-1, so no debug log attached.)

### Description
When Sublime Text is installed, the **Sublime Text row never appears in Setup → Default Editor** in the launcher menu, and `omarchy-launch-editor` **silently falls back to nvim** even after `omarchy default editor sublime_text` succeeds.
Both failures share one cause: the shipped guard and the launcher test for a `sublime_text` command, but the Arch package (`sublime-text-4` 4.4215-1) only puts `subl` on PATH (`/usr/bin/subl`). `/opt/sublime_text/sublime_text` exists but isn't on PATH. `omarchy-cmd-present` is a plain `command -v` wrapper, so it fails for `sublime_text`.
Affected code:
- `default/omarchy/omarchy-menu.jsonc:164`:
```json
"setup.default.editor.sublime": {"label":"Sublime Text","when":"omarchy-cmd-present sublime_text","action":"omarchy-default-editor sublime_text"}
```
- `bin/omarchy-launch-editor:21`:
```bash
omarchy-cmd-present "$editor" || editor="nvim"
```
### Steps to reproduce
1. Install Sublime Text (`subl` is the only command the package provides)
2. Open launcher → Setup → Default Editor: Neovim/VSCode/Cursor/etc. are listed, Sublime Text is missing
3. `omarchy default editor sublime_text` → reports "Sublime Text is now the default editor"
4. `omarchy launch editor` → nvim opens instead of Sublime
### Expected
Sublime Text appears in the Default Editor menu like other editors, and `omarchy launch editor` opens it.
### Actual
Menu row hidden; launcher silently falls back to nvim.
### Workaround
```bash
ln -s /usr/bin/subl ~/.local/bin/sublime_text
```
This makes the menu row appear and the launcher work.
### Suggested fix
Either check `subl` in the menu guard (or accept both names), or have `omarchy default editor sublime_text` normalize to the `subl` command.
### Diagnostics
```
$ omarchy-cmd-present sublime_text; echo $?
1
$ command -v subl
/usr/bin/subl
$ pacman -Qo /usr/bin/subl
/usr/bin/subl is owned by sublime-text-4 4.4215-1
$ omarchy default editor
sublime_text
```
(`omarchy debug` is not available in 4.0.4-1, so no debug log attached.)
Validation
Not checked yet. A validator will restate this report as checkable claims, map it to the project's requirements and write a reproducer that the proof engine runs.
