Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Black screen on Display Manager on Intel iGPU with eDP OLED panelsrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-08 15:43 UTC via poll

System details

Intel igpu, omarchy 4.0.4

What's wrong?

On an Intel iGPU laptop with an eDP OLED screen, booting into Omarchy results in a pitch-black screen at the Display Manager.
* TTY works fine and is accessible, but the graphical login screen fails to display anything.
* The system is fully booted and accepting keystrokes, but panel luminance stays off/black on the Display Manager.
Solution / Workaround Used
* Boot Parameters:
Added the following parameters to /etc/default/limine and regenerated the bootloader config:
systemd.restore_state=0 i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=0

This prevented systemd-backlight from applying a zero-state and bypassed the broken DPCD AUX link that was shutting the OLED screen off.
* OLED Brightness Control:
Because forcing i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=0 disables hardware brightness registers, brightness control was handled via software gamma scaling using wl-gammarelay-rs in Hyprland.
